This shall be a blog in two segments. The first will detail the events of the day, the second will be the extremely helpful guide afformentioned in the title. Feel free to read whichever section you feel most personally invested in, I won’t be offended.
TODAY: Was entirely uneventful. We had three successful shows. Lots of laughs, and one particularly amusing water fight in the evening, between Dirk and Maddy, which I tried to remain neutral in. Oh, and I befriended a lovely old lady at the art exhibit/sale. Which is what prompted the second part of this post.
LOGAN’S Guide on how to make Elderly Women appreciate you.
- Don’t be afraid to talk to them. They were your age once too. Sure, they may have been your age at a time before colour TV and Angry Birds, but that’s no excuse.
- Stand up straight. Try and look presentable. Any tidbit of advice your grandma had given you applies here too.
- Smile and nod. They may not have the vision or hearing they used to, but they can tell if you’re not engaged by their stories of how their cat loves Werther’s candy almost as much as they do.
- Have an open mind. They might have some wisdom, especially about art [in the case they work in the art gallery].
Now I just have to resist purchasing any art from my new elderly friend… My fingers are crossed!

Logan
